How do I Attach an Undergravel Filter Base With a Betta Mini-Bow All-Glass Aquarium?

The All-Glass Aquarium Company is now known as Aqueon. The AGA Mini Bow 1 Junior is the aquarium kit for bettas that comes with an undergravel filter. An undergravel filter consists of a plastic grate, plastic tube, air stone and air line tubing. It continuously pulls water down through the gravel and up through the plastic tube back into the tank. It uses the gravel substrate for both mechanical and biological filtration.

Instructions

    • 1

Rinse the aquarium and undergravel parts in clean water. Rinse only the outside of the air line tubing. Do not get the inside of the air line tubing wet.

    • 2

Place the plastic grate in the bottom of the Mini Bow.

    • 3

Attach one end of the air line tubing to the air line connector on one end of the air stone.

    • 4

Attach the plastic tube to the plastic grate. Place the air stone with air line tubing attached down through the plastic tube until the air stone rests on the bottom.

    • 5

Connect the free end of the airline tubing to the air pump. Place the air pump at a location that is higher than the fish tank.

    • 6

Rinse the gravel you have chosen in clean water until the water runs clear.

    • 7

Cover the plastic grate with gravel to a depth of 1 inch. Install rinsed plastic plants as desired.

    • 8

Slowly fill the aquarium with dechlorinated water so as not to disturb the gravel and plants.

    • 9

Plug the air pump into a nearby outlet.

    • 10

      Add fish.
