How to Hide Return PVC in Aquarium Rocks

When you set up an aquarium, your goal should be to recreate the natural environment of the inhabitants as much as possible. At the same time, you need to provide quality filtration and oxygenation to keep the fish healthy. Adding PVC tubing to the tank is one of the best ways to direct the water flow exactly where you want it, but it is not exactly attractive. By arranging rocks and other decorations, you can hide those unattractive PVC tubes and provide your fish with a natural environment.

      Place the PVC tubing where you want it. Placing the return tubing in the back corners of the aquarium will make it easier to hide the return pipes.

      Select an assortment of tall aquarium plants and place them in the corners of the tank. Use real plants, especially large and fast growing species such as sword plants, or use plastic plants, which can be arranged any way you want them.

      Place an assortment of aquarium rocks along the PVC tubing to hide it and provide a natural look for the tank. Place several rocks next to one another to create a natural cave for the shier fish to hide.

      Attach a piece of natural driftwood to a slate bottom. Sink the slate bottom in the gravel and place the driftwood against the PVC tubing.
