Instructions for Setting Up a Mozoo MF-220 Aquarium Filter

Many fish keepers choose to have an internal aquarium filter instead of an external filter or one that hangs on the back of the fish tank. The Mozoo MF-200 aquarium filter is an internal aquarium filter and is relatively easy to set up. It is important that the fish tank that the Mozoo MF-200 aquarium filter is being used with is less than 50 gallons in size. Otherwise, this small and compact filter may not be able to filter the aquarium water effectively. If the tank is larger than 50 gallons, a method of filtration other than internal filtration should be used.

Instructions

    • 1

Remove the filter from its packaging and ensure that the filter sponge is inside the filter.

    • 2

Attach the suction cups that come in the Mozoo MF-200 aquarium filter box to the back side of the filter. These will hold the filter in place because the filter is completely submersible and will be inside of the aquarium with the fish. Stick the filter onto the glass on the inside of the aquarium -- low enough that the intake and output vents are under the water line while ensuring that the electrical cord that powers the filter is safely outside of the tank and not in a place where it will get wet, aside from the portion under water that enters the top of the filter.

    • 3

Fill the aquarium with water, ensuring that the intake and output vents are fully submerged. At this point, any decorations, gravel and plants can be added to the aquarium.

    • 4

Plug in the filter so that it begins filtering the water. Allow it to run for at least one day before adding fish to ensure that the filter is running properly and the aquarium is filtered adequately for fish.

    • 5

Every three to four weeks, clean your aquarium filter to keep it running smoothly and efficiently. Do this by detaching the suction cups from the glass, removing the filter from the water and rinsing off the sponge that is inside of it with lukewarm water.
