How to Clean a Marineland Canister Filter

Marineland canister filtration systems--C-Series, Magnum and Hot (Hang on Tank) Magnum--feature standard mechanical and chemical aquarium filters that remove impurities and contaminates that can darken water, cause odors or harm plants and fish. In addition, some Marineland systems also feature specialized biological balls and ceramic rings that promote the growth of nitrifying bacteria beneficial to maintaining the health of your aquarium plants and fish. No matter the type of filtration, cleaning Marineland filters isn't difficult and only requires that you rinse away loose dirt, sediment or other forms of build-up that can accumulate and lower filter efficiency.
