Appearance
-
Fresh water is clear and transparent. Sea water is somewhat cloudy and has visible particles floating in it.
Creation
-
Water is naturally fresh. Salt water is created because of water movement over the land. The salt becomes part of the water because of eroding rocks due to the water̵7;s moving over them.
Components
-
Fresh water is pure H2O (two parts hydrogen and one part oxygen). Salt water is H2O with the particles of rock or ̶0;salts̶1; floating in it.
Density
-
Sea water has a higher density than freshwater. Density is the ratio of the water̵7;s mass to its volume. Sea water̵7;s is higher because it has more mass due to the salts. Objects float better in sea water because of its density.
Viscosity
-
Viscosity is the internal resistance to flow. The salinity of sea water causes it to have a higher viscosity than fresh water.

Sea Water Vs. Freshwater
The earth̵7;s surface is made up of 70 percent water. There are two types of water found on earth: salt water or sea water and fresh water. Sea water is more abundant than fresh water.
