How to Make Fish Tank Decorations

Decorations in an aquarium are almost necessary if you want it to look somewhat appealing. There are many items that can be put into an aquarium to add a bit of class, but almost nothing looks more natural than plants and driftwood. This can be done right at the house, and inexpensively.

Instructions

    • 1

Buy fake plants from any retailer that sells such items. These places often sell driftwood for craft projects as well. When selecting driftwood, make sure that it will fit into the aquarium.

    • 2

Separate plants into small sections that would be suitable for the interior of the aquarium.

    • 3

Using the drill and masonry bit, drill a hole into the center of each rock that will be used for the plants.

    • 4

Stick the previously separated plant sections through the holes that were drilled in the rocks.

    • 5

Using a glue gun, place a dab of glue on the underside of the rock so that the plant stays in place. Also run a ring of glue around the top side for added security. This completes the plants.

    • 6

Using the glue gun, place a generous portion of glue in the center of a new stone and firmly press the wood into the pool of glue. Add more glue if necessary to make sure that the driftwood is held steadfastly to the stone.

    • 7

Let the glue dry on all decorations before rinsing and then placing them into the aquarium.
