How many are left in the world?
There are no longer any of this species left in the world. The baiji, also known as the Chinese river dolphin, was a freshwater dolphin that was found only in the Yangtze River in China. It was declared functionally extinct in 2006, and no confirmed sightings have been made since then. The primary cause of its extinction is believed to be human activity, including habitat destruction, overfishing, and pollution.
