- Aquarium background film (self-adhesive)
- Utility knife or scissors
- Spray bottle filled with water
- Squeegee or credit card
Steps:
1. Measure and cut the background film: Measure the dimensions of the outside of your fish tank (width x height). Cut the background film to the desired size, leaving a few extra inches on each side for trimming.
2. Clean the glass surface: Thoroughly clean the outside of the fish tank to remove any dirt, grease, or residue. Make sure the surface is dry before applying the background film.
3. Spray the glass surface with water: Lightly spray the glass surface with water from the spray bottle. This will help the background film to adhere more easily.
4. Peel off the backing of the background film: Carefully peel off the backing paper from the back of the background film. Be careful not to touch the adhesive side of the film.
5. Apply the background film: Starting at the top corner, slowly apply the background film to the glass surface. Use your hands to smooth out any bubbles or wrinkles as you go.
6. Trim the excess film: Once the background film is applied, use a utility knife or scissors to trim off any excess film.
7. Use a squeegee or credit card to remove bubbles: To ensure a smooth finish, use a squeegee or credit card to gently press out any remaining bubbles or wrinkles.
8. Let it dry: Allow the background film to dry completely before refilling the fish tank with water.
By following these steps, you can easily and successfully apply aquarium background film to the outside of your fish tank, enhancing the overall look of your aquarium setup.
