However, they do communicate with each other through a variety of non-vocal methods:
* Body language: They can puff themselves up to appear larger, change their coloration, and use their fins to send signals to other pufferfish.
* Chemical signals: They release pheromones, which are chemicals that can trigger a response in other fish.
* Electrical signals: Some species of pufferfish can generate weak electrical fields that they use for communication.
So while they don't make the kind of noises we associate with fish, they are still able to communicate with each other.
