Remove algae from your betta fish tank by placing the fish in a bowl of water and thoroughly washing the tank before placing the fish back in the tank.
Prevent algae from growing in the tank by reducing the amount of light the tank is exposed to. Algae thrive in an abundance of light. One way to prevent light from entering the tank is to place a blanket over the tank. This is perfectly safe to do for a few hours a day; though you want to keep the blanket off and let some light into the tank for your fish. The blanket on top of the tank will not deplete the oxygen supply in the tank.
Remove the blanket from your fish tank during the time of day when direct sunlight is not directed at the tank. Fish need light to survive so using a blanket should only be a short-term option to keep your tank algae-free.
If I Put a Blanket on My Betta's Tank, Will It Lose Oxygen?
Fish are the types of pets many people enjoy having. Fish require less maintenance than many other animals. Betta fish are as easily cared for as are many other types of fish. However, one important aspect to caring for your betta fish is to keep the fish tank as clean as possible, which means keeping algae clear of the tank.
