* Digestion: Your body breaks down food into smaller molecules that it can absorb. This process takes time, and the meat you eat will be digested and absorbed over several hours.
* Water Weight: While the meat itself weighs 1 pound, a large portion of that weight is water. When your body digests the meat, it removes the water content, so you won't actually gain 1 pound of weight.
* Waste: Your body will also eliminate some of the digested meat as waste.
What about calories?
While you won't see an immediate weight gain, the calories from the meat will eventually be stored as fat if you don't burn them off. This is a much slower process, and it takes a significant calorie surplus over time to gain noticeable weight.
Important Note: Weight fluctuations are normal throughout the day. Your weight can fluctuate based on factors like water intake, food consumption, and even time of day.
