What does the port Jackson shark eat?

The Port Jackson shark (Heterodontus portusjacksoni) has a varied diet that consists mostly of:

* Crustaceans: This includes crabs, lobsters, and prawns.

* Molluscs: They eat snails, mussels, and other shellfish.

* Fish: While they prefer invertebrates, they will also eat smaller fish and squid.

* Sea urchins: They have strong jaws that allow them to crush the shells of these spiny creatures.

They are bottom feeders, meaning they forage for food on the seafloor. Their powerful jaws and sharp teeth are adapted for crushing and grinding their prey.

Interestingly, juvenile Port Jackson sharks have different feeding habits than adults. They mostly feed on small crustaceans and worms, as their jaws are still developing.
