What eats Pacific sleeper sharks?

Pacific sleeper sharks (Somniosus pacificus) are apex predators, meaning they are at the top of the food chain and have no natural predators.

However, there are some exceptions:

* Larger sharks: While the Pacific sleeper shark is quite large, it can be preyed upon by even bigger sharks like the great white shark.

* Orcas: These intelligent and powerful marine mammals are known to prey on a variety of sharks, including the Pacific sleeper shark.

* Human activity: Overfishing and habitat destruction can negatively impact the Pacific sleeper shark population.

It's worth noting that the Pacific sleeper shark is a slow-moving and deep-dwelling shark, which makes it less vulnerable to many predators. Its tough skin and large size also provide some protection.
