What eats dolphins?

Dolphins are at the top of the food chain in their ocean environments, meaning they have very few natural predators. However, there are a few animals that can and do prey on dolphins, especially young, sick, or injured ones:

* Large Sharks: Great White Sharks, Tiger Sharks, Bull Sharks, and Mako Sharks are known to prey on dolphins.

* Orcas (Killer Whales): Orcas are apex predators and can hunt dolphins in groups.

* Other Marine Mammals: Large toothed whales like pilot whales and false killer whales have been observed feeding on dolphins.

It's important to note that while these animals can prey on dolphins, it's not a regular part of their diet. Dolphins are usually too fast and agile for most predators, and they often travel in groups for protection.

Human activities, like fishing bycatch and pollution, pose a much greater threat to dolphin populations than natural predators.
