What do baby dolphins eat when there younger?

Baby dolphins, called calves, are entirely dependent on their mothers for their milk. This milk is very rich in fat and protein to fuel their rapid growth.

Here are some key points about dolphin milk:

* High in fat: This provides the energy they need for swimming, diving, and growing.

* High in protein: This supports their muscle development and overall growth.

* Contains antibodies: These protect calves from infections and diseases.

* Can change in composition: The milk's composition changes as the calf grows older, becoming less fatty and more similar to cow's milk.

The calves typically nurse for around 18 months, although this can vary depending on the species and environment. After that, they start gradually learning to eat solid food, like fish and squid, alongside their mother's milk.
