How to Feed Freshwater Shrimp

Freshwater shrimp are omnivorous, meaning they eat both animals and plants. There are several different species of freshwater shrimp, such as pearl shrimp, bamboo shrimp and dwarf shrimp, and each one feeds differently, so it is very important to understand which species is in your fish tank. The best thing for feeding shrimp is a well-maintained aquarium -- almost every species of shrimp can live eating plants and algae in cool water. If your aquarium is not its own ecosystem, you can feed your shrimp using store-bought tablets.
