How does a narwhal eat its food?

A narwhal does not eat using its tusk, but rather uses it for hunting. The tusk is actually an elongated canine tooth. Its tusk is very sensitive, and it is covered in nerve endings. Narwhals use their tusks to stun their prey, which is primarily Greenland halibut and cod. It swims along the ocean floor and uses echolocation to find its prey. Once its prey has been detected, the narwhal will use its tusk to stab the fish. The tusk will then inject a toxin that will paralyze the prey. The narwhal will then swallow its prey whole.
