What do rock pool starfish eat?

Rock pool starfish are predators that feed primarily on small invertebrates, such as mussels, barnacles, limpets, and worms. They use their tube feet to walk on the rocky bottom of tide pools and hunt for their prey. When they find a suitable prey item, they use their suction cup-like tube feet to attach themselves to the prey and pull it into their mouths. Starfish have a unique digestive system that allows them to eat their prey outside of their bodies. They secrete digestive enzymes onto their prey, which liquefy the soft tissues of the prey. The starfish then absorbs the liquefied nutrients through their stomach lining.
