They have a natural affinity for swimming thanks to:
* Webbed feet: These help them paddle efficiently through the water.
* Dense coat: Their double coat provides insulation and buoyancy.
* Natural instincts: Labrador Retrievers were originally bred to retrieve waterfowl, so swimming is ingrained in their genetics.
While some individual Labs may be hesitant or afraid of the water, most enjoy swimming and will happily splash around if given the opportunity.
Important note: Always supervise your Labrador Retriever when they are swimming and ensure they have a safe place to enter and exit the water.
