Do great white sharks eat lionfish?

Great white sharks are opportunistic predators and will eat a variety of prey, but they are not known to eat lionfish. Here's why:

* Lionfish are typically found in shallower, warmer waters. Great white sharks prefer cooler, deeper waters. Their ranges rarely overlap.

* Lionfish are venomous. While not deadly to humans, the venom could cause discomfort for a shark, and they likely wouldn't find the risk worth the reward.

* Lionfish are small compared to the prey great whites typically eat. They focus on larger marine mammals, seals, and other sharks.

While it's theoretically possible a great white might encounter and eat a lionfish in a rare circumstance, it's highly unlikely.
