Things You'll Need
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Clear 2-liter pop bottle
- Several twist ties or twine
- Fish food
Instructions
Thoroughly clean out the pop bottle. Rinsing several times with hot water should do the trick. Don't use soap because the residue will be difficult to remove and may harm your fish.
Cut off the top section of the bottle, about a third of the way down. Invert the top section into the bottom section so that the spout sits inside the bottle.
Punch four holes along the rim. The holes must be evenly punched through both layers of plastic. Attach the two pieces with twist tags through the holes. The pieces can also be attached with twine.
Add food that your fish likes to the bottle. Put the live fish trap into the water, making sure the entire trap is submerged. The fish will be able to easily enter the trap through the wide opening, but will have a harder time getting out due to the funnel of the spout.
