Visit a pet store like Petco, Petsmart, or your local store. Betta fish aren't something that you should buy over the Internet.
View the fish and simply pick your favorite. There isn't much in the way of making a choice other than finding which one you like. Most Betta fish come in self-contained containers; they cannot be in the same tank with other Betta fish since hey will attack each other. Consider buying multiple fish to spread out over your home.
Purchase supplies for your Betta fish at the pet store. The great news about Betta fish is that they require very little in their bowl, though you can buy rocks, trees, treasure chests or other ornaments. Also, Betta's like small areas, so make sure each bowl you buy is intimate. Purchase Betta fish food. Also purchase a "stress coat" to add to the water which will ease the transition of your Betta fish.
Add water to your Betta fish bowl and then allow it to come to room temperature before putting the Betta fish in his environment. Be sure to add water from the bowl the Betta fish came in into their new bowl.
