Give your lined seahorse plenty of open space in which to swim. Since lined seahorses require a fair amount of space, keep them in aquariums that are at least 30 gallons in size.

Provide your lined seahorse with optimal water conditions. Keep your aquarium's water temperature at 72 degrees Fahrenheit to 78 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, you'll need to keep the aquarium's pH value at 8.1 to 8.4. Make sure the aquarium's alkalinity stays at 8 DKH to 12 DKH and that the calcium level is kept between 400 ppm and 460 ppm.

Feed your lined seahorse live food. Unlike other fish, lined seahorses need to be fed throughout the day instead of being given a single, large meal. At least three times a day, serve your seahorse tiny helpings of mysis, grass or brine shrimp.
