Does a blob fish have babies or lay eggs?

Blob fish lay eggs. They are found in deep waters off the coasts of Australia and Tasmania, where they live on the ocean floor and feed on small invertebrates. Blob fish can grow to be over 3 feet long and weigh over 50 pounds. They have a gelatinous body with few bones, and their skin is covered in a layer of mucus.

During mating season, the male blob fish inflates their noses or makes a humming sound as a call for a mate. Blob fish mate by laying and fertilizing eggs on the ocean floor. The male guards the eggs from predators until hatch.
