Do Great White Sharks care for their young?

Great White Sharks do not provide any parental care for their young (ovoviviparous). Unlike some other shark species that give birth to live offspring and may provide protection and training to the young, Great White Sharks follow an "open ocean birthing strategy". After an internal development period of about 11-12 months, female Great White Sharks produce litters of up to 14 small, fully developed, and independent offspring called pups.
