Does Winter the dolphin always wear her false tail?

Winter the dolphin does not wear a prosthetic tail at all times, but only when necessary to protect her exposed spinal cord during various activities. Her caregivers ensure that she wears the tail during interactions with other animals or when participating in intensive therapies. Outside of these situations, Winter is able to swim and move freely with her natural tail without the prosthesis.
