Things You'll Need
- Fertilizer
- Fish tank
- Bamboo
- Rocks, pebbles, soil, driftwood
- Area with partial sunlight
- Fish tank stand (if necessary)
Instructions
Place the fish tank growing the bamboo in an area of your home that has partial sunlight. You do not want too much sunlight, but you want at least a couple hours a day in order to help spur fast growth in the bamboo.
Water the bamboo once a week. Make sure it is not soggy. In an aquarium, it is difficult for you to provide the proper drainage bamboo needs, so it is important to water the bamboo in small increments.
Add other things to the fish tank in order to provide good support for the bamboo. Add soil, pebbles, or other types of rocks to the bottom of the tank to anchor the bamboo. Then, add rocks, large wood pieces such as driftwood, or fish tank decorations around the bamboo. This will assist in anchoring the bamboo even more.
Add fertilizer to your bamboo. The best type is a fertilizer that is high in nitrogen. Depending on the type of bamboo and amount, see the package for directions on how to feed it to your growing bamboo.
