How long can a stingray live outside of water?

A stingray cannot live outside of water for long. While some species of stingrays can survive out of water for a few hours, most will die within minutes or hours. This is because stingrays need water to breathe, and they cannot survive without it. When a stingray is out of the water, its gills can dry out and it will suffocate. Additionally, stingrays cannot regulate their body temperature in air, and they will quickly overheat or freeze to death.
