How many species are endangered?
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species currently lists 32,461 species as threatened, representing nearly one-third of all assessed species. Of these, 28% are Critically Endangered, 41% are Endangered, and 31% are Vulnerable. These species are facing various threats, including habitat loss, overexploitation, pollution, climate change, and the spread of invasive species.
