Where is the habitat of thresher shark located?
The thresher shark (Alopias vulpinus) is a highly migratory species found in temperate and tropical waters around the world. It is commonly found in the eastern Pacific Ocean, including the Gulf of California and the waters off Mexico, Central and South America. It also inhabits the western Atlantic Ocean, including the Caribbean Sea and the waters off the coast of the United States, Brazil and Argentina. The thresher shark can also be found in the Indian Ocean, including the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Additionally, it is found in the western Pacific Ocean, including the South China Sea and the waters off Japan, Australia and New Zealand. The thresher shark prefers to stay in the upper layers of the water column and is often found near the surface.
