Do salmon live in the tundra?
Salmon live in various aquatic environments during different life stages, including freshwater rivers and streams, estuaries, and oceans. While some salmon species, such as the Chinook and Sockeye salmon, are found in tundra regions during their freshwater life stages, the tundra itself is not their primary habitat. Tundra environments are characterized by low temperatures, permafrost, and vegetation such as mosses and lichens, making them less suitable for salmon, which require flowing water and specific water quality conditions for survival.
