Water Treatment

According to longtime discus breeder Tom Meador, add half a cup of Epsom salts for every 50 gallons of water the discus is in. Change one quarter of the tank water the next day and repeat, up to three times a day.

Symptoms

Discus fish in the early stages of swim bladder infections will often be on the bottom of the tank. After the condition worsens, they float to the top of the tank on their sides.
