What is the lifespan of pufferfish?

Pufferfish, also known as blowfish, can have varying lifespans depending on the species. Some smaller species, such as the dwarf pufferfish (Carinotetraodon travancoricus), have relatively short lifespans of around 3-5 years in captivity. Larger species, such as the red-eye pufferfish (Takifugu rubripes) and the giant pufferfish (Arothron stellatus), can live for much longer, with lifespans estimated to be up to 10-15 years in the wild. However, individual lifespans may vary widely depending on the environment, care, and availability of food sources.
