Can bait fish live in chlorinated water?
Bait fish are freshwater fish that cannot tolerate chlorine in the water. Chlorine levels as low as 0.1 mg/L can kill baitfish. Therefore, it is essential to use de-chlorinated water for baitfish tanks and ponds. This can be done by using a water conditioner that removes chlorine and chloramines from the water or by allowing the water to sit for 24 hours to evaporate the chlorine.
