What helps a clown fish survive?
A clownfish's vibrant colours and distinctive white stripes serve as a warning to potential predators that it is poisonous. Clownfish produce a mucus that coats their bodies and contains a toxin that is harmful to predators. This mucus also helps the clownfish to protect itself from parasites and diseases. Additionally, clownfish live in close association with sea anemones, which provide them with protection from predators. The clownfish is immune to the stinging tentacles of the anemone, and in return, the clownfish helps to keep the anemone clean and free of parasites.
