How to Change Marineland Filters

Marineland one of the most recognized brand names specializing in aquarium products. The company offers a line of aquarium filters. Aquarium filters clean the water by removing harmful bacteria that will infest your tank if not properly maintained. Marineland filters come in models such as, the Emperor Filter System, the Penguin series filter system with Bio-Wheel filters and Canister filters. All three are acceptable and will treat harmful waste, discoloration and odors to keep your tank healthy and clean. They're not difficult to install.

Instructions

  1. Emperor 400 Power Filter

    • 1

      Lift the top cover of the filter.

      Remove the old ready-to-use filter cartridge from the filter system. Take out the black sponge pre-filter behind the ready-to-use filter cartridge, and thoroughly rinse it out in the sink.

      Replace the old filter cartridge with a new ready-to-use filter cartridge and return the black sponge pre-filter to the slot behind it.

      Place the cover back on the filtration system.

    Penguin Series Filter System with Bio-Wheel Filters

      Remove the black vented cover and the front clear cover from the filtration system.

      Take out both Bio-Wheel filter cartridges near the top of the filtration system.

      Lay two new Bio-Wheel filter cartridges into the cradles. Make sure the wheels spin with ease to ensure optimal filtration.

    Canister Filters

      Release the locking buckles on top of the canister filter system. Lift the release buckles on the sides of the system and pull up.

      Remove the securing plate to reach the filter cartridge.

    • 10

      Replace the old cartridge with a new Marineland canister filter cartridge. Insert the canister into the cylinder cradle.

      Return the securing plate back on top of the filter cartridge. Align the arrow on the handle to the arrow on the filter case. and lock down the release and locking buckles to secure the filtration system cover.
