Things You'll Need
- Pumice stone
- Screwdriver
- Air tubing
- Gravel
- Needle
Instructions
Carve the pumice stone with a screwdriver to make a small area for the air tubing to sit beneath the stone. Do not bore all the way through the pumice stone.
Place a small piece of gravel into the end of the air tubing to plug the end. This will keep the air from blowing out of the end of the tube. Get the gravel as far into the tube as possible.
Poke numerous small holes into the air tubing near the gravel plug at the end of the air tubing. These small holes will allow air to escape the tubing and work their way through the stone.
Jam the tubing under the pumice stone. Situate the tubing so it will not easily come out from under the stone. The more the air tube is jammed into the stone, the better the results.
Place the bubble stone into the tank. Connect the opposite end of the air tube to the air pump.
Observe the stone to make sure air bubbles are coming out evenly as possible and that the tubing and stone are staying together. Make adjustments to the stone, tubing and number of holes as necessary.
