How to Adjust Your Seaclone Protein Skimmer

A filtering device, the Seaclone Protein Skimmer removes organic wastes and proteins from aquarium water. It works well in both fresh and salt water tanks and is a great alternative to traditional filters, as it requires no air stone or replaceable filter. You only need to clean out the collection cup once a week. Get the filter to work properly by adjusting the Turbo-Venturi Air Valve attached to the top of the device.

Instructions

    • 1

Plug in the Seaclone Protein Skimmer to turn it on.

    • 2

Remove the top part of the Turbo-Venturi Air Valve. Turn the top section counter-clockwise to unscrew. This opens the air intake to its maximum level and reduces water flow to a minimum.

    • 3

Screw the top portion of the Turbo-Venturi Air Valve back on, turning it until snug. This closes the air intake off and opens up maximum water flow.

    • 4

Unscrew the top portion of the Turbo-Venturi Air Valve by 3/4 to 1-1/2 turns to set it to the optimal air intake and water flow. The number of turns depends on the pump's location and the water level in your aquarium. The best results are obtained by turning the top part slowly until you see no back flow or bubbles reentering the aquarium.
