1. Cut fish fillets into thin, finger-sized strips.
2. Mix together flour, salt, and pepper in a shallow dish.
3. Whisk egg in a separate shallow dish.
4. Dip each piece of fish into flour mixture, then egg, then back into flour mixture.
5. Heat oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
6. Once oil is hot, add fish fingers and cook for 2-3 minutes, turning once, until golden brown and cooked through.
7. Serve immediately with tartar sauce or your favourite dip.
