Instructions

    • 1

Remove rocks from the aquarium and put them into the pot.

    • 2

Fill the pot with water and boil the rocks for at least twenty minutes. This kills bacteria and removes anything that might be clinging to them.

    • 3

Remove the rocks from the pot with tongs and place them into a bucket.

    • 4

Fill the bucket with water and one cap full of bleach per gallon of water.

    • 5

      Let the rocks bleach overnight.

    • 6

Dump bleach water from the bucket into a safe area.

    • 7

Refill the bucket (with rocks in it) with water and add dechlorinator, according to the manufacturer's instructions.

    • 8

Let the rocks and water dechlorinate overnight to be sure that all the bleach has been neutralized.

    • 9

Return the rocks to your aquarium.
