Things You'll Need
- Aquarium gravel
- Small air pump
Instructions
Empty the tank in which you wish to use the filter. Place the Hawkeye 201 directly on the bottom of the tank.
Push the clear tube into the raised connection cylinder on the base of the Hawkeye filter.
Cover the base of the tank with 1 to 2 inches of gravel.
Fill the tank with water, making sure that the water goes over the top of the clear filter tube.
Hang a small air filter over the top of the tank to supplement the filter.
Plug the air filter in. Turn it on and let the water sit in the air filter/Hawkeye filter combination for 24 hours.
Add your fish by first placing the fish in a baggy and then putting the baggy in the tank. Let the water in the baggy warm to the same temperature as the tank water and then open the baggy to let the fish into the tank.
