Does Great Britain have great white sharks?

Great white sharks (Carcharodon carcharias) are found in coastal and offshore waters of most oceans, with the exception of the Arctic. They are highly migratory and can travel great distances, including across the Atlantic Ocean. White sharks have been recorded in British waters, with occasional sightings around the Cornish and Devon coasts, as well as in the Irish Sea. However, they are not considered to be a common species in the region and their presence is typically transient.
