How large do great white shark grow?
The great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) is one of the largest extant fish species. On average, males measure 3.4–4.0 m (11–13 ft) and weigh around 522–771 kg (1,151–1,700 lb), while females measure 4.6–4.9 m (15–16 ft) and weigh approximately 680–1,000 kg (1,500–2,200 lb). Some female great white sharks reported have measured up to 6.1 m (20 ft) and weighed upwards of 1,905 kg (4,200 lb). Great white sharks usually stop growing between the ages of 26 and 33.
