Is a dolphin bigger than shark?

The largest known shark species, the whale shark, can grow up to 40 feet long and weigh over 40,000 pounds, while the largest dolphin species, the orca, can grow up to 32 feet long and weigh over 10,000 pounds. So, on average, a dolphin is not bigger than shark. However, there are some dolphin species that are larger than some shark species. For example, the orca is larger than the great white shark, which can grow up to 20 feet long and weigh over 5,000 pounds.
