Where do giant moray eels live?
Giant moray eels (Gymnothorax javanicus) are found in the Pacific and Indian oceans. They typically inhabit coral reefs and rocky coastlines, at depths of up to 100 meters (330 feet). Giant moray eels are solitary creatures and are known to be ambush predators, lying in wait for prey to come close before striking. They feed primarily on fish and crustaceans. Giant moray eels can grow up to 3 meters (9.8 feet) in length and are considered to be one of the largest species of moray eel.
