What can a star fish regrow if it loses one?

A starfish can regrow its arms if it loses one. This is called regeneration.

Here's how it works:

* Each arm contains a portion of the starfish's central disc. This central disc holds important organs like the stomach, nervous system, and reproductive system.

* When an arm is lost, the starfish's body can use the remaining portion of the central disc to grow a new arm. This process can take several months.

* Sometimes, a lost arm can even grow into a completely new starfish! This happens when a significant portion of the central disc is attached to the lost arm.

It's important to note that not all starfish species can regenerate arms. Some species have limited regenerative abilities, and some cannot regenerate arms at all.
