Instructions

    • 1

Fill your small aquarium half full with water. Add a couple of drops of cleaning solution and a light layer of gravel. Plug in your pump let it run for about 30 minutes.

    • 2

Scoop your sick goldfish out of the pond with your net. Try to be as careful and delicate as you can on this transfer, because the fish could react negatively to the stress.

    • 3

Place the fish in the aquarium and let it rest for at least two days in the clean environment. Feed the fish regularly. It is possible that your pond is overcrowded or that the sick goldfish was being bullied by another fish.

    • 4

Follow the instructions on the pond-water cleaning solution bottle and apply the solution to your pond according to your estimated pond volume. Most of the time, a cleaner environment is all a goldfish needs to regain its health.

    • 5

Perform partial water changes as necessary in your aquarium by adding only treated and safe water while your pond is being cleaned. This will help the fish gradually get used to its temporary environment.

    • 6

Check your goldfish's status the next day and if it has a more normal attitude and demeanor from the clean water, add it back into the cleaner pond. If the fish's health has not improved, talk to your vet about necessary medications or antibiotics.
