Instructions

    • 1

Decide the number of tables for each centerpiece. Bring this number with you when buying or ordering goldfish.

    • 2

Purchase small glass bowls. Choose from fish bowls, large glasses or large glass candle holders. Get a bag of aquarium rock. Rinse all containers and decorative rock and let dry.

    • 3

Fill each container with about 1 to 2 inches of decorative aquarium rock. If you want to add artificial vegetation, make sure it is only a tiny plant, the fish need room to swim around in the bowl.

    • 4

Buy goldfish at a pet store or from a fish supply company on the Internet. Order fish specifically with a delivery date, one day prior to the event to ensure the fish are alive on the day of your special occasion.

    • 5

Add distilled water, that has been kept at room temperature, to each bowl. Fill to about 1 inch from the top of the bowl. Place containers on the tables, and put one or two small goldfish in each bowl. Keep the fish in water at room temperature before putting them in the centerpiece.

Allow the guests to take the goldfish home after the event. Make sure you have plastic bags and rubber bands on hand. Give guests the entire centerpiece including bowl, fish and a small packet of fish food as a sovenier.
