What does male goldfsh look like?
Male goldfish are typically more slender and streamlined than females, with a slimmer jaw and a longer, more pointed snout. When in breeding condition, males will develop small white bumps known as "breeding tubercles" on the opercles (gill covers) and pectoral fins. These tubercles are used during courtship and spawning. Additionally, male goldfish may have larger and brighter fins, and their coloration may become more intense during the breeding season.
