Where can stonefish be found?

Stonefish are found in the warm coastal waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans, including the Red Sea, Persian Gulf, and the seas around Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. They prefer shallow, sandy or rocky areas with plenty of hiding places, such as coral reefs and seagrass beds. Stonefish can also be found in brackish waters, such as estuaries and mangroves.
